Animal Bingo in Estes Park

The day brought us up close with the diverse animal population of Colorado. We saw hummingbirds and Alvin the chipmunk at pancake breakfast. The dogs joined us for a long (4 mile) hike (to 9500 ft!) where they saw and barked at a bunch of other dogs. We then hit up our camp to do some chores before going for a scenic drive in Rocky Mountain National Park. That's where the animals really came out for happy hour at the park.

Bird checking out the sunset in RMNP.

One of the many sunset pics. Purple mountain's majesty indeed. Fun fact from breakfast-- this was one of the influences for "America the Beautiful."

Melvin the Moose caused a backup leaving the park.

Edwin the Elk also caused a commotion. (Tho may be a male Mule Deer based on that butt.)

50ish mule deer snacking.

This big man is our hero! Dude was biking at 12kft!!!

Representing Florida... Wearing sleeveless tank, shorts, and flip flops at 12kft in front of snow.

Extreme close up of mule deer when they were crossing the road.

Post-hike success!

First bouldering for these puppers.

Close encounters of the hummingbird kind.
