Last night, Good Buddy kept hearing a high pitched buzzing in the bedroom. After opening/closing the window, messing with the shades, it wouldn't go away. She opened the cabinet above her head remembering she saw a fly there in the morning. Mother Trucker put his phone flashlight on at the same time. Yikes! About 10 mosquitoes buzzing at the light! After some fly swatting, all were eradicated "humanely." At least one of them had bit us first.
Today, we ventured into Gallatin National Forest again for a long (3 mile each way) hike with the dogs on Johnson Lake Trail. It was a struggle up to the mountain, but the lake at the end was cool. It was also nice having zero others on the trail too. Just the wildflowers, pine trees, occasional hawk, and lots of wild-animal poop. The last mile on return brought some sun and a bunch of mosquitos attacking us.
Later in the afternoon we wrapped up our exploration of Yellowstone with some more geysers and a hike to the Grand Prismatic Spring overlook. A few bison and elk were around the park posing for the paparazzi.
Lake Johnson was pretty to look at but the microorganisms in it might make it dangerous to swim in.
We labelled this one "bubbly" on the park map.
The Grand Prismatic Spring was definitely best seen from above.
