Kings Canyon - Day 2

We headed over to the Kings Canyon part of this National Park today. First up was the General Grant tree that is the 2nd largest in the area. Next we drove winding canyon roads to Zumwalt Meadows for a hike. We hit up Roaring River Falls and Grizzly Falls before stopping at a bunch of overlooks on the drive back.

The last hike of the day was on Big Stump Trail where you can see the remnants of the logging industry's wrath on the giant sequoia population. Notable is the Mark Twain stump that was sectioned and sent to NYC for display in a museum.

After the park we headed over to Fresno to get some supplies at Camping World. Meanwhile this area is still on fire and bloody hot.

The General Grant is super gianormous!
The inside and outside of this fallen tree turned tunnel.

The Zumwalt Meadows hike began with a river.

This sequoia is channeling its inner Saquaro Cactus.

The scenic canyon on the way to the meadow.

Mother Trucker trying to move mountains.

And the meadow!

Roaring River Rapids was hopping with people trying to take a dip.

Grizzly Falls wasn't so grizzly.

In case you thought your RV could poop in this porta potty.

Canyon views galore!

We are sooo tiny on this planet.

Mark Twain's Stump.

These are not filtered. This is 4pm and that is the sun. Can't wait to get to clearer cooler skies!
