Red Canyon and a Bike Trail FAIL

We explored the areas outside Bryce Canyon today. We hiked in the adjacent Red Canyon area and scaled up the Castle Bridge Trail. This area had, you guessed it, more hoodoos and canyon vistas. Then it was back towards Bryce for what we thought was going to be a fun bike ride to Tropic Reservoir. What we got was a dusty, dirt road complete with wash boards and a heavy head wind. We made it a mere 3 miles and Good Buddy wiped out once before we admitted defeat and headed back.

Afterwards, we checked out Rustler's Restaurant. We were the only diners in the establishment and the waiter/cook's wife was super chatty. It was nice meal (nothing crazy special) but the friendliness of our server was delightful. And Mother Trucker really enjoyed the local Uinta Baba black lager.

Starting our hike amongst more hoodoos.
Made it to the top! The climb uphill was again intense!
Good Buddy righting a road sign that the wind knocked over.
