Lots of Walking in Zion National Park

Yesterday was a lazier day since we weren't able to get shuttle tickets for Zion. We did a desert hike with the dogs and hit up the hardware and grocery stores.

Today we got our shuttle tickets for tomorrow right at 9 am. They release the last minute tickets the day before online and they sold out in first 2 minutes yesterday!

We scored shuttle tickets for today so we headed into Zion for exploring. The Riverside Walk was heavily trafficked and we saw several deer on the trail. Then we headed to Big Bend to take some photos of the canyon sides. Next up was a short walk on Grotto trail to Zion Lodge. From there we explored the Emerald Pools Trails. Good Buddy was exhausted!

Then we headed further down the canyon to rally for the Watchman's Trail. To the dude coming down passing us as at the 1/3 point telling us we were "almost there," karma is coming. FYI - This trail is upwards to the end and then downhill on the way back. But we eventually made it through and racked up over 11 miles of walking today. A new high score for this trip!

Yesterday's midday hike with dogs. Houdini was not into it. He wanted to head back about half way.

Riverside Walk to the infamous Narrows hike. Unfortunately the water is contaminated with bacteria and deemed unsafe to travel in.

Hundreds are not heeding the warnings from the park and risking getting a neurotoxin from the water...
Hartman the squirrel. He isn't fat, he's big boned.

A view up the canyon walls.

Deer buddy on Grotto Trail. She was chowing on the buffet of leaves on that tree.

Middle Emerald Pool.

Upper Emerald Pool.

Lower Emerald Pool. The colors are caused by bacteria.
Travelling up to Watchman's Trail.
Finally at the top!
Back down headed to the car. These two stags were grazing in the campground near our car.
