Today, we biked a couple of miles over to the South Kaibab Trail. The hike was a grueling 3 miles down and 3 miles up in the sun. The challenge wasn't the distance, but the elevation change. 2,000 ft down is definitely easier than 2,000 ft up. The views along the way were amazing. On the bike ride back, we were sure to check out a bunch of vistas along the Rim Trail. Once back, it was all about relaxing and watching the Elk wander about the RV park.
Carlton is the boss man of this area. Large and in charge.
Houdini has all the TP! The sticker was from the RV shades.
Starting the hike at the rim.
The view on the way down.
At Skelton Point and our return point.
3 miles and 2,000 feet down from the start.
Of course Hugh the squirrel was waiting for some scraps at our snack stop on the return.
He is just feet from the RV!! And feeling frisky for his lady friend Regina.
