Santa Monica, CA? Nope - Austin, TX

We motored on eastward today to Austin, TX via San Antonio. Good Buddy literally jumped out of Winfield at a red light and ran a block to snap some photos of the infamous Alamo, while Good Buddy navigated around the block. Once in Austin, we were struck with the ridiculous amount of consumerism in the city. There were stores and restaurants everywhere. Our other observation was the striking resemblance of the city to Santa Monica and Venice Beach, CA. The demographics, types of retail, and just hipster vibe is over the top. But we do appreciate that people know how to wear masks in stores (although social distancing is still a work in progress).
Winfield and Miss Fit enjoying the farm views at the Pecan Valley RV Park and Farm (Junction, TX).My best friend, through thick and thin...
Approaching San Antonio...San Antonio skyline.Remember the Alamo! The World Famous Buc-ee's truck stop.No wonder why the Costco staff didn't card us for the wine... No underage kid is going to have Mother Trucker's cottage cheese AND boxed wine in their cart! (In his defense, cottage cheese is a great source of protein.)

Eastbound through Texass

We are East bound on the way through Texas. Today our stop is in Junction, TX. A quaint rv park and farm. They feed the deer at 6 pm sharp and they literally come running (message Good Buddy for the video). Star watching is good here too (although it has been stellar since Utah - pun intended).

Mother Trucker called this the finger canyon.
Driving through West Texas was a little basic. The landscape got greener as we enter "hill country."
They literally were running to the feeder after it went off. About 30 deer total of all ages.
Taken with my cell phone and 30 minutes of patience with the manual settings and trailer levelling blocks as a "tripod." The middle is the Milky Way. Oooh!
