We motored on eastward today to Austin, TX via San Antonio. Good Buddy literally jumped out of Winfield at a red light and ran a block to snap some photos of the infamous Alamo, while Good Buddy navigated around the block. Once in Austin, we were struck with the ridiculous amount of consumerism in the city. There were stores and restaurants everywhere. Our other observation was the striking resemblance of the city to Santa Monica and Venice Beach, CA. The demographics, types of retail, and just hipster vibe is over the top. But we do appreciate that people know how to wear masks in stores (although social distancing is still a work in progress).

Remember the Alamo!

No wonder why the Costco staff didn't card us for the wine... No underage kid is going to have Mother Trucker's cottage cheese AND boxed wine in their cart! (In his defense, cottage cheese is a great source of protein.)
