Wildlife Bingo

We explored just outside the Houston suburbs by walking the trails of East End Park. We got wildlife bingo with the sighting of this Copperhead (and a skink and odd red and black bee-looking bug). Later in the day Good Buddy painted the pumpkin we bought at the pumpkin patch.

Starting the trail...It was cool to catch Penny the Copperhead as she slowly slithered off the trail.
Mr. Skink was super fast and liked to hide.
Not the greatest picture of the unique red and black bug on the trail.
It's spooky season!

Houston Bound

We left Austin for Houston today. We detoured a two seperate Buc-ee's Truck Stops along the way. One was almost like a whole department store-- huge! Winfield broke 11,111 miles too. Our RV park comes equipped with lots of ducks and even ducklings. Bonus, their laundry room was the cleanest and nicest we've seen. The day ended with a zoom meetup to celebrate a bunch of friends' birthdays (Stedl, Bj, Deepa, and Michelle).

Pancakes, Pumpkins, and Pho

Exploring outside the metro area, we found both an Original Pancake House (like the one in Torrance, CA we used to love) and a pumpkin patch. Unfortunately, the omelettes and pancakes at this OPH were not nearly as generous as those served up at the Torrance location. The pumpkin patch was a chance to enjoy a brief cold front in Austin. There was archery, baegs, corn maze, and (of course) pumpkins. We also celebrated 10 years of marriage with a low-key delicious pho meal. It was a welcome change to the default pizza, american, and mexican options we've had for most of the trip. A lovely day all around!
Mmm pancakes!!!
It looked like a cardboard plane.
Good Buddy made it up with a lift assist from Mother Trucker.
We made it through a Scooby Doo corn maze.
We had no clue how to properly wrangle a bull but Mother Trucker did lasso it successfully.
Pneumatic apple gun was therapeutic.
Mayebelle the Llama was our friend. She tried to eat Good Buddy's water cup.
Lady Longhorn grazing from a safe distance.
Crazy tree house.
