No Smiley Face Cookie?! Just the Wild West.

Houdini was super excited to find someone else's leftovers (rawhide twist) before we left Lincoln, NE. We made it across much of Nebraska today and are staying in North Platte. Driving was nothing but farms... Mostly corn.

We ended up in the home town of Buffalo Bill (yeehaw!). After checking out the Muffler Man at Fort Cody, we had to get some grub at Perkins. For 3 days now, Good Buddy insisted that they were the home of the smiley face cookies. About 5 minutes in the restaurant, Google informed her that it was in fact Eat n Park who serves smiley face cookies-- whoops! Dinner was still tasty though.

Farms, Farms, and More Farms

Today was a pretty boring travel day and we'll take it after the start to our adventures. No new vehicle or travel issues! 

We drove through Missouri to Iowa (for a slight detour to a "haunted" house) and then onto Nebraska. The detour was a short tour of the Villisca Axe Murder House and the most scary thing was the doll in the rocking chair. Second most was the nail-poking attic that you access through a 3x2 foot door. 

Most of the driving scenery was farmland with crops of corn and soybeans (mmm, edamame). 

At our campsite, the dog park was the place to be. Houdini, Rosie, and Reggie made a new friend and wore themselves out running around.

Dino-mite Diesel! Dude even cleaned our windshield for us... though we think they charged us an extra 10 cents/gal for this "full service". Oh well, it's all good.

Smoother Sailing - Happy Birthday 'Dini!

Houdini turned 14 today (72 in schnauzer / poodle years)! 

We finally figured out how to get the water heater on. Hooray for hot water! Especially since Missouri is a lot cooler (highs in mid-70s, lows in high 50s). 

Another early 6am start to get to the Mercedes dealership (of Chesterfield, MO) to diagnosis our check engine light. 4.5 hrs later we are on the road again. Turns out the error was poor quality DEF (Diesel Engine Fluid aka urine) in our chassis. Thanks Tom and team for your patience with our barky mutts and hospitality (oh and fixing the RV)! 

We went through most of Missouri (skimming through Kansas City). Lots of farms and some knucklehead drivers.
