4 States in One Day

Started in Nashville, TN and drove through Nashville, IL and Kentucky on the way to St. Louis, Missouri. We had some luck with Autos of Europe, Inc when we got to STL in diagnosing our check engine light after 2 other places couldn't or wouldn't help us. So we're going to have another early day tomorrow to go to a Mercedes dealership to hopefully fix the engine warning.

Fortunately, the ants are gone after some Terro!

Our DC/AC inverter is working when we're plugged into shore power so we're still confused if it's got issues or we're dumb. And we found that the microwave turns off the induction stove ... maybe a safety feature?

Another new find: Rosie prefers riding in the dash if we let them.

Last thing-- The State Park we ended up in is five stars. Quiet, naturey, and shady.
Little trail walk at the state park.
Waiting for engine diagnostics.

I see dead people.

Officially in STL.
Evidence we've been to Illinois and Kentucky on this trip.

She's ready to hit the road!

  1. Nice post. Check if your dc/ac inverter will work if you power it on without a load attached, and then plug things in after it's on.

  2. Thanks for the suggestion. We had tried that and it didn’t do anything. We can try again to see if it was a fluke. We also read about disconnecting the batteries for a minute to try and force a reboot. And if that doesn’t work either, to call Xantrex customer service for help.

One thing that’s also a bit off is the induction stove shutting off when the microwave is on, even on shore power w the ac off. I seriously doubt we’re pulling over 30 Amps, so am surprised that happens.

    1. We finally figured out the inverter issue. There’s a cutoff switch near the door that disconnects the batteries from the inverter it seems. We had it off when we were storing the rv and didn’t turn it back on.
